Walker and Cyclist Campsite
Saddlescombe Farm sits directly on the South Downs Way, on one of the finest stretches of the South Downs National Park. Devil’s Dyke just 1.5 miles away where you can also catch a bus directly to Brighton. We provide a simple site for walkers and cyclists arriving on foot or by bike.
A toilet block and water tap is provided for campers, please be aware there are no shower facilities. There is a café (not NT) on site with limited opening times. Please be aware that there is also limited to no phone signal throughout the farm.
There is limited car parking opposite the farm. Alternatively, you can use either Summerdown or Devil’s Dyke car park, 1.5 mile walk away (prices apply, free for NT members)

We farm regeneratively here at Saddlescombe and love working with nature to produce grass fed meat which tastes delicious. But don’t take our word for it, why not add your favourite cut of meat to your booking to cook whilst you’re here or take with you on your next adventure.

Group bookings
Groups will only be accepted with prior agreement and only from affiliated organisations e.g. DoE, schools etc. We do not accept stag / hen parties. Please contact hellosaddlescombe@gmail.com or call Roly 07776 393072 in the first instance to discuss your group booking request.
Campsite Information

Please arrive after 7am and before 9pm.
Please leave by noon on your day of departure. If you wish to extend your stay, please talk us.

Saddlescombe is a working farm with cattle, chickens and ducks. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times. Maximum 1 dog per tent.

We ask that our visitors are always considerate to their neighbours, but 'quiet please' between 9.30pm and 7am

Campfires are not allowed. BBQs are permitted provided they are raised off the ground. Fire blocks are available for use in the campsite field.

Cooking inside tents or pods is NOT permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the camping pitch and site amenities are presented to a high standard. The toilet block is managed by The National Trust but should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact us, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. We will not normally make any refunds for complaints made after the Visitor’s departure from the campsite, if the Visitor did not make the problem or complaint known to us during the Visitor’s stay. All complaints made after the Visitor’s departure should be made in writing by post or email.
